Biography:

Michael Smiley, MD is a board-certified SLUCare physician and associate professor at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. He sees pediatric patients with pulmonary conditions, including asthma, chronic cough, functional respiratory disorders, airway malformations, Cystic Fibrosis and chronic home mechanical ventilation. Additionally, he treats breathing problems related to conditions such as neuromuscular weakness, prematurity, systemic inflammatory disorders and chronic aspiration.

Dr. Smiley uses the latest technologies for his patients including airway evaluation by flexible bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, respiratory muscle strength assessment, lung diffusion assessment, lung volume assessment and exhaled nitric oxide measurements.

His memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Thoracic Society. He currently continues to serve in the U.S. Air Force Reserve with 932 MDS at Scott Air Force Base.
